Catrina paints with acrylics on canvas and on old LP albums glued together to form a canvas. She focuses on creating portraits of substantially important creators of music: blues and jazz. Her subjects include BB King, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and new musicians, both living and deceased, such as Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan. She also paints pictures of old and classic cars.
Catrina King has exhibited as the featured artist at Scranton’s First Friday events; at the Community Cup Coffee & Tea House in Towanda; at several locations in Tunkhannock, including the Dietrich Theater, the Kitson Gallery, the Yearbook Diner, The Blogg Pub & Grill, and the tasting room at Nimble Hill; and at many other area venues.
