Summer Sessions Music Festival Returns to Old Carter Barn for Landmark
5th Season
TUNKHANNOCK, PA — The Summer Sessions Music Festival returns to the
historic Old Carter Barn for its fifth season, marking a major
milestone for one of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s most distinctive live
music series. Produced by the Old Carter Barn Arts Initiative in
association with the North Branch Art Trail, the 2026 Summer Sessions
continues its tradition of showcasing a diverse array of NEPA’s finest
musical artists—each concert highlighting a different genre, from
classical to country, blues to bluegrass—all set in the intimate,
lakeside setting of Old Carter Barn on the shores of Lake Carey.
The renewed collaboration between Old Carter Barn Arts Initiative and
North Branch Art Trail underscores a shared commitment to supporting
regional artists, strengthening NEPA’s creative community, and
celebrating live performance in unique and inspiring spaces.
Housed in a beautifully restored historic barn known for its warm
acoustics and welcoming atmosphere, Summer Sessions offers more than
just concerts. Each evening features rotating food trucks, full bar
service with craft beer and wine, and a relaxed summer environment
that invites audiences to slow down, listen deeply, and connect with
the music.
“For five years, we’ve been evolving this series and are excited to
bring these artists back to our stage,” says Lewis Flinn, Broadway
composer and co-founder of Old Carter Barn Arts Initiative, who runs
the organization alongside five-time Tony Award–nominated playwright
Douglas Carter Beane. “These concerts put artists and their music
first and provide a platform for audiences to really listen to their
craft in a great, intimate setting.”
